Getting Fit – Bit by Bit!

The Project SEARCH program at Children’s Hospital Colorado is in its second year of implementing a robust health and wellness model which is an expansion of the existing Health Matters curriculum. The “Caring for Adults with Disabilities Study”

Using the Health Matters Curriculum with the Project SEARCH Program Model

Health and fitness are critical to achieving and maintaining competitive employment. With this in mind, we have developed guidelines for integrating the Health Matters curriculum into the Project SEARCH program year. The guidelines align Health Matters lesson plans with the 8 subject areas of the Project SEARCH course of study and provide a week-by-week blueprint for curriculum delivery.  In this presentation we will discuss the guideline document and share knowledge gained through a pilot trial of the curriculum guidelines at 10 Project SEARCH sites throughout Ohio.

There is no cost for these webinars; registration is required; CEUs are not offered for these webinars.

For disability accommodations email Jasmina Sisirak (jsisirak@uic.edu) at least 10 days before the webinars.

The webinars are hosted by the HealthMatters ProgramTM in partnership with Project SEARCH® and funded by The Rehabilitation Research and Training Center on Developmental Disabilities and Health (RRTCDD). The RRTCDD is funded through United States Department of Health and Human Services, Administration for Community Living (ACL), National Institute on Disability, Independent Living, and Rehabilitation Research (NIDILRR), Grant # 90RT5020-01-00, and a grant from the Ohio Developmental Disabilities Council.
