We will discuss the difference between normal anxiety and clinical anxiety and explore a psycho-educational workshop that works to develop a shared language around anxiety with interns and Project SEARCH staff, basic management strategies and a means for problem solving interns’ issues relating to normal workplace anxiety.
The Project SEARCH program at Children’s Hospital Colorado is in its second year of implementing a robust health and wellness model which is an expansion of the existing Health Matters curriculum. Outcomes for this model are indicating behavior change that is sustainable as program participants are transitioning into employment, and ideally these healthy habits will continue throughout their lives.

Between 11-60 percent of people with ID are exposed to polypharmacy. The issue of polypharmacy in residential program of Community Individual Living Arrangement (CILA) was examined. A comprehensive clinical review and a corresponding care plan was conducted for CILA residents at highest risk for polypharmacy. We will present the results and outcomes of our Optimal Rx project.
This webinar addresses the health promotion needs of transition-age adults with developmental disabilities. These health promotion needs are similar to those of other young adults entering college and the workforce, yet a lack of accessible health promotion campaigns for transition-age persons with developmental disabilities exist.
May 12, 2020 (1pm - 2pm CST) - Using the Health Matters Curriculum with the Project SEARCH Program Model
Health and fitness are critical to achieving and maintaining competitive employment. With this in mind, we have developed guidelines for integrating the Health Matters curriculum into the Project SEARCH program year. The guidelines align Health Matters lesson plans with the 8 subject areas of the ProjectSEARCH course of study and provide a week-by-week blueprint for curriculum delivery. In this presentation we will discuss the guideline document andshare knowledge gained through a pilot trial of the curriculum guidelines at 10 Project SEARCH sites throughout Ohio.
